In prayer and intercession, consider the work of God, in and on the behalf of the inner man, the human spirit. Faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord produces great results in the here and now, if we only know, and apply in prayer these following realisms. Being born again of the Holy Spirit, four things happen and continue to be so as the work of God.
(1) Regeneration John 3:6 "...that which is born of the Spirit is spirit". Consider the Life of God within us as we pray.
(2) Germination 1 Peter 1:23; 2 Peter 1:4 "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God..." "...that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature..." Consider the divine nature of God within us.
(3) Sealing of the Holy Spirit Ephesians 1:13; 2 Corinthians 1:22 "...after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise" "Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts". Consider the fact, we are sealed and secure in our spirit.
(4) Daily Renewing 2 Corinthians 4:16 "...the inward man is renewed day by day". On God's side of things, our inner man is maintained.
Four other things take place upon assuming some responsibility as believers in supplications, prayers and intercessions.
(5) Strengthened With Might Ephesians 3:16 "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man". In praying and being prayed for, we are strengthened and made strong in the spirit for an overcoming and victorious life.
(6) Developing of the Fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22,23 "...love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance" are developed at the same time. They are a cluster, not an individual fruit growing apart from the other. This is the New Man mingled with the attributes of Christ.
(7) The Gifts of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 Wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues, are all the diversities, administrations, operations and manifestations of divinity upon our humanity to profit the entire body of Christ.
(8) The Release of the Spirit 1 Corinthians 5:3; Colossians 2:5 "...absent in body, but present in spirit...when ye are gathered together, and my spirit" "For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ". As our prayer life increases and spiritual maturity sets in more and more, the Father can and will give work release for the New Man, the Inner Man, the hidden man of the heart.
